BARGAIN SALE Every thinjr greatly Reduced Starts To-Day F O X M A N JEWELRY STORE WHY SAINT FRANCIS DAM BROKE * "Built for Service" The entire world was shocked and appall ed when the news came of the recent California disaster. With the breaking of Saint Francis dam, the waters swept down upon a sleeping people, and lives and property were swept away. No doubt many people in Brevard have had direct news telling the horrible story. Even as this is written, there lies an open letter on the desk, from an old-time friend, telling of a home ? and even the lot upon which it stood ? being forever gone in the flood waters. And now they know why it happened. Now, they say, it is known that the cemefii used in the building of the foundation of the dam, disintegrated, and the rocks loosened. THE FOUNDATION WAS NOT RIGHT. So it is with our plans for the future. Unless we build solidly, we do not build permanently. Make your own choice. A solid founda tion, built upon thrift and saving ? Make our bank your choice. 29 years of service to the people of Tran sylvania County with more than 4000 cus tomers should be evidence to you on how your neighbors feel toward our institution.
