MASONIC LODGE DOING HUCH WORK I ' Many Masons of Brevard enjoyed an unusual meeting last Friday eve ning, when rehearsal of the Master Mason's Degree was had. There is much work to be done in the Lodge, j in the several degrees, and all mem-j bers who woilld aid in giving the de grees to new members are urged to attend the meetings and assist in ; the work. Another rehearsal of the j Master's Degree will be had this (Thursday) evening, and members who desire places on the team are l asked to be present. 1 The lecturer from the Grand Lodge State will be here within a short time to give instructions, and in order that he may find the Masons of Transylvania county well up on the work, two team captains have been named for the purpose of divid ing the membership into two squads, and these squads will give diligent study to the work before the ar rival of the lecturer. The "side" J that is declared; by the lecturer to be the most proficient in Masonry will be guests of the other "side" at a dinner. Unusual interest is being shown in the work here, and the few mem bers who are not attending the meet ings are really missing something of great importance. given him by the hostesses. Talk about your good roads and about us being so far behind if you want to, East , Fork ? we're just . about up with you now. Mr. Elmer j Gillespie got stuck near the river ; bridge and had to be pulled out by Mr. Baker last Saturday. That shows that East Fork isn't used to those kind of roads (the kind that come in contact with the axle ev ery time the gas is stepped on). Look out, or we'll be up with East I Fork. The roads are so bad that the school bus barely creeps through their complicated composition. Looks like we will have to take to horse back riding, as they did "in the 'good old times." j Mrs. Mary Hampton Mills, Bre vard's own author, has a story in March True Story. Get it at Ward's ?
