Boggs of Spartanburg, S. C., and the nephew of the late Mr. John S. Boggs. Mr. Boggs spends part of the summer in or near IJrevard every year. Mr. and Mrs. Boggs were at Fair lield Inn for a short while during wedding trip, leaving there for a few days visit in Richmond, Va., after which they will be at home to their friends at Lafayette, Indiana, where Mr. Boggs is a student of Purdue University. Mrs. Boggs is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Vaughan, well known citizens of Spartanburg. EN. JOY ABLE DANCE One of the most enjoyable events of the summer season was the lovely dance given by Mr. and, Mrs. T. D. Grimshaw in honor of the birthday anniversary of their son, Richard, Thursday evening, August twenty seventh. The Grimshaw home on Oaklawn Avenue was artistically dec orated with a profusion of yellow flowers carrying out a color motif of y 'i!ow, white and green. BENEFIT SUCCESSFUL AFFAIR Seventeen tables of cards were in play last Thursday evening at the Joines Motor Company when the members of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Library enter tained at a Benefit Bridge party. An evening of great enjoyment was spent by those in attendance, and es pecially pleasing were the short black ace and the mystery and sleigh-of iand acts. Sponsors of this event were quite pleased with the outcome and express their thanks to all those who assisted. i ! DANCE AT BRYANT HOUSE ENJOYABLE AFFAIR Miss Helen F. Epps and -Miss Jessie Anderson entertained with a very enjoyable dance at the Bryant House, Thursday evening. The room was decorated with garden flowers and the lights were trimmed in rain bow colors, sending soft glowing lays of color over the dancers. The music was furnished by the Brevard Col ored orchestra. Twenty couples en joyed the dancing from 9 o'clock un til 1:00.
