OUR SCHOOL TEACHERS Our poets praise the President, and Governor of each State, And I'm willing to admit some praise they're due; But others did their bit to help them reach that high estate, And with these we ought to share the flowers, too. | i [ am speaking of teachers who teach our public schools ? To benighted intellects they bring the dawn, By teaching reading, writing and al gebraic rules. They help to keep the wheels of know ledge rolling on. ? Fust suppose we had no schools for one hundred years or more, . wonders who would run our nation then? wonder who'd be President of tl>e land that we adore? Vho would be our Governors and Congressmen? Vhen we're summing up our heroes of the present and the past, Vho have helpwl to make our nation great and strong, ?ot us not forget our teachers toiling bravely at their task, ''or they keep the wheels of know- ; ledge rolling on. -Zeb H.
