The Panthers of Rosenwald High
School tied the big Asheville team
on McLean Field last Thursday aft
ernoon 6-6. Ttie game was witnessed
by a large crowd, among whom were
a number of white citizens. The
Panthers are much elated, this being
their first season. They have played
five games ? winning three and tying
two.

Principal Harris Speak*
Armistice Day
At last Wednesday's chapel exer
cise, Principal Harris called the chil
dren's attention to the meaning of
Armistice Day and why we celebrate
it. At night, on Armistice Day, he
delivered the address in Asheville to
the American Legion Post, of which
he is a member. Principal Harris is
said to be the only colored army chap
lain who now holds a commission as
first lieutenant in the Officers Re
serve Corps of the U. S. Army in
North Carolina.
