Junior Bryson and Harry Blake, Jr. Mr. Blake is one of the most popu lar citizens of the Selica section, and the Blake home, Hampshire Heights, is a center of the community social life in that section. BAPTIST G. A.'s MEET WITH 1 MRS. PAUL HARTSELL The G. A.'s of the Brevard Baptist s church met at the Pastorium Monday i evening, Feb. 22, with Mrs. Paul Hartsell. The president, Miss Ora i Holt Long, presided. The meeting was 1 opened with the song "America." t Several members ; of the organization offered sentence prayers. 1 On account of the illness and ab- I sence of the counselor, Mrs. W. S. ' Price, Mrs. Hartsell acted as leader c for the meeting, the topic of discus- 1 sion being "Honoring the Father of 1 Our Country." > Members present included: Misses Elizabeth Price, Anita Galloway, Ora Holt Long, Pauline Hartsell, Ruth Fulton, Sarah Teague, Catherine Fulton and Mary Aiken. Erwin who resigned as general chair- { man of the lunch committee. , a INSTITUE PLAY WELL RECEIVED "The Path Across the Hill" led many Brevard people and a large number of Brevard Institute students to the Institute auditorium, Tuesday evening when the members cf the Junior class presented an cijoyable play of that name. The location of the three a?t play vas laid in the living room of Rath Conrad's home in an Eastern village, -uid many an interesting incident oc curred there during the evening. The well chosen cast included: Samuel Crawford, grandpa, Virgil Ritchie; Robert Post, the visitor, Russell Henderson; Walter Conrad, Kuth's brother, Shirley Mooney; Dr. Jimmie Reed, with ambition, Jack Brower; Salamander Alexander John Henry Jones, Zuzu's choice, William White; Mrs. Davis, grandma, Dorris Swan; Ruth Conrad, nicknamed ?'Bobby," Emily Futch; Flo Gray, Ruth's cousin, Katherine Graham; Lutie, a neighbor, Katherine Mc- 1 Clure; Zuzu, the cook, Mildred Gantt. WEDNESDAY CLUB SPONSORS ,1 TREE PLANTING The Brevard Wednesday Book Club 1 sponsored a Tree Planting program jn the Brevard High school lawn J Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. !, The program included: Formation, Grirl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
