/tepubiican Candidate* For
Congress Filed For Every
District In State.
Rakish. April 27. ? If the Republi
cans of North Carolina didn't "put
one over" on the Dmocrats in thu
June primary preparations deliberate
ly aiul decidedly, they, or at least one
of the number, did it as effectively,
even if unwittingly, as if it had been
planned- The Democrats have "one
over" on them, regardless of how it
got there.
George W. DePriest, Shelby, is the
only Republican contesting for a
State-wide office with the regular
nominee of the Repubi iean State con
vention- Jake F. Newell, Charlotte,
for the U. S. Senate nomination. Mr.
DePriest will probably deny that
i;th< !? Republicans put him up to it.
Bur ''or his candidacy, all State-wide
. cont sts would have been strictly
am- . Democrats. When among
Deir . rats on.'y, the pollholders would
be Democrats, entirely. With Mr, De

be a Democratic contest with a Re- '

Moreover, presence of Mr. DePrieat

more.

The set has attracted a Targe num

Houston's Furniture Store, Mr,

employ. !
A few times he has been able to
?eceive the clear picture with the 1
lound accompaniment, however this
s an nuiisual occurence, since the j
101'se which naturally follows a
elevisior. set is so loud that it drowns
>ut other broadcasting sounds. Only
in ideal broadcasting nights is this
jossible.
Young Sledge was graduated from
Brevard High school in the class of

ion during that time for his skill and
knowledge of machinery, radios and
ilectrical app'iances of all kinds. He
las constructed a number of radios

The excellent stage lighting -equip

At the present time he is spending j
