BREVARD GIRLS TO SPEND
TWO WEEKS VACATION AT
CAROLINA BEACH

the 'public schools of Angiers during
the past year have been attending
commencement exercises at Salem
College, Winston-Salem this week.
The popular young Brevard ladies
plan to go from Winston-Salem to
Durham ivhere they will be joined by ,
Miss Maxine Watkins and to Greens
' boro to be joined by Miss English.
-They .Will continue their trip to Caro
lina i^ch and spend a two week3
vacati? at that summer resort.
After June 12, Miss Watkins and
Miss May Johnson of Atlanta, Geor
gia will visit with Misses English and
Ramseur at their home here.
EASTERN STAR TO MEET !
TUESDAY
A regular meeting of the Order of
the Eastern Star will be held Tues
day, June 7, at 8 o'clock. This will
be a practice and instruction meet
ing with a social hour at the close.

HONORED AT DANCE
Honoring his sister, Miss Hargaret
Kullbright, of Asheville, who spent
the past week-end in Brevard, Earl
Fullbright was host at a dance on
last Saturday evening at his home.
An array of spring flowers dec
orated the living room, where the
couples were invited to dance. The re
freshments of punch and cake were
served from the dining room.
About twenty guests were present.

The Y. W. A. of the Brevard
Baptist Church held the regular
meeting of the month in the form of
a picnic at Camp Carolina, Monday
evening.

STUDENTS RETURN FOR BIG
REUNION EVENT
k Twenty three former students of
Brevard Institute returned to their
old Alma Mater Saturday evening for
the first reunion of its kind since they
left the school. Many of the old stu
dents were accompanied by their wives
and al! gathered in tho parlor of the
Girl's Dormitory for a social hour of
i-cminiscing over "Old Times."

Word has been received here that
Miss Fannie McGehee, popular young
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Mc
Gehee of Macon, Georgia was grad
uated from Wesleyan College, -Monday
morning May 30th taking her Bache
lor of Arts degree from that insti
tution.
Miss McGehee is widely known in
Brevard, she having spent many sum
mers here with her family and it is
with delight that her friends here
learn of her achievement in the schol
astic world.
Miss McGehee, an honor student of
Wesleyan college was chosen for
membership in Phi Delta Phi last
Thursday night, this being one of the
outstanding sororities.
Miss McGehee served this year as
president of the Association of Macon
Girls at Wesleyan. She received sop
omoro honors; and last year was a
junior marshal during the commence
ment. She is a member oi the math
club. She has been a prominent mem- <
ber of her class tennis team during
four years at Wesleyan.

2. Pairing.
3. Play. After a series of 24 hands
in which there is to be a progression
between the winners in each squad.

8 hands, the 16 teams (32 entrants)
having the highest score will be eligi- .
ble for the opening rounds of the '
Championship flight The losers will
be paired together in a consolation
flight.
Second night:
Eliminating Rounds
1. The qualifying teams (16) from
the previous receiving report to
Championship Flight. Those who
failed to qualify will" report to Con
solation 'Flight.
Opening Round*: For Both Champ,

(The following plan will determine
the procedure for the Champ. Flight.
The Con. Flight will be carried on
in a somewhat like manner, depend,
ing on the Np. of entrants. After the
pairing, 1G hands will be played at
each table, no progression at all, the
winning team qualifying for the
quarter finals. The losing team being
eliminated' from the tournament.
". Quarter Finals. After 16 hands,
which are to be played as in the
opening rounds 4 teams will be elimi
nated and 4 teams will progress to
th*> semi final rounds.
Third night:
Championship Rounds
1. Semi Finals. After 16 hands 2
teams survive.
2. Finals. After 16 hands the
Champions Survive.
