Rev. J. H. West, pastor of the church in announcing the speaker de clared that by a new provision of | the Methodist council it was advised j to have an educational Sunday every 1 quarter to discuss various phases of educational work. Mr. Trowbridge delivered a power ful sermon challenging the young people to aspire to higher educations in christian institutions of the state. PL A Y A SUCCESS "Fine!" "Excellent!" "Good!" were some of the remarks praising the splendid presentation of the play, "The Hoodooed Coon" at Penrose Saturday night. In spite of the rain and mud there was a good attendance and the ball club realized a neat lit tle sum to help out of debt and carry on the good old ball sport for the rest of the season. The usual good order at Penrose exercises was notic ed and is to be commended. Members cf the cast for the play are expect ing to carry this excellent comedy to other places for presentation. The thanks of the manager go to every one who helped to make this play a success.
