Mack Rhodes of Hendersonville and one of his friends were in our section Monday. Our community is gaining in popu lation, Mr. Dave Green is occuping the cottage known at the "Lucky Hunch" and Mr. Higden and his 'amity have moved into one of T. B. Reid's cottages. , Mrs. Mary Burgess spent two days ast week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Galloway, at their home In Olenville and reports the old folks as doing fine for their age. Mrs. I?. D. Reid and daughter, Miss Lula Reid and Miss Pearl Lanning called on Mrs. S. L. Sanders, Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. McCall had as their dinner guests Sunday Mrs. Mary Burgess and Miss Albert Bur gess. .1. C. Reid of Knoxville, Tenn., spent last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Reid. Miss Flora and Bess Reid of Bre vard spent Monday with their aunt, Mrs. Wade Nicholson. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Sanders spent several days last week with the lat ter's mother, Mrs. Wilson, at her home in South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Buck McCall occupied the Sanders home while they were away. Lee Nicholson of Rosman visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Nicholson. Sunday. A nice car was fished out of Horse Pasture river near the Jeff Reid place by a wrecker fi*om Brevard Sunday. It was said to have turned a complete >i'.m>nersault landing on its wheels. Wo have just learned that Rev. and Mis. Louis L.vday and family were called by wire Monday to return home I at once on account of an accident | in which their son and brother, Lloyd j Lyday were injured. We sincerely I hope that he was not seriously hurt, j CEMETERY CLEAXIXG All the friends and relatives of deceased persons buried in the Orr Cemetery at Little River are urged to be on hand Saturday morning to help clean and- beautify the burial grounds. ( ; SELICA NEWS I; Most of our folks are; attending the revival at Cherryneld which is proving to be one of the greatest in . the history of the e'nurch as large j numbers are being saved in most every service and some of the greatest I sermons ever heard here have been delivered by pastor Rogers and his i assistant, Tom Cogdon of Canton. The j magnifieant building with the largest I seating capacity in Transylvania has given accomodation to the large at tendance. A large number of the Selicaites were disappointed last Sunday even ing having assembled at Catheys ?Creek for church and the preacher failed to come. We hope he was not sick or had not had any serious ac cident. The many friends of uncle Henry Barton who has been paralized for many years will learn with regret that his condition is about as usual. The union Sunday school is pro j gressing nicely with a large attend ance. E. L. T. Ewbanks visited his son, Jimmie, of Connestee, Sunday. J. W. McCall has been visiting rel atives at Shoal Creek. Ed Barton is visiting friends on Mills River at this time. We are glad to report that Joe Bryson, Jr., who hps been suffering from boils is impi-oving. Hope to see him out again soon. Mrs. Eliza Barton was a visitor of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Head, of North Brevard, the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Pearson wore visitors in our section Sunday. W. W. Galloway and J. W. McCal! were Gloucester callers Sunday. Sheriff Tom Wood and Mr. Tinsley were in our section with their dogs last week to hunt for some one who had visited Presley Galloway's crib and carried away a quantity of Rye. An interesting lV-vival closed on Stammey Creek last Friday night conducted by Rev. Holtsclaw of Bre vard. Some wonderful sermons were given and great interest manifested by the large congregations. Ward Breedlove attended the re vival at Middle Fork Monday con ducted by Rev. Jack Eldridge of Ros man, assisted bv Rev. Ed Summey, John Chapman and Nathan Chap man. Much interest is shown and con versions each service. Clarence Whitmire and McKinley Ewbanks were in Rosman on Business | Monday. Willie Punn almost had a serious accident recently when the automobile which he was driving side-swiped ! that of Mr. James Mull, pushing it | from the road. Messrs Lee Morgan and Vess Gal loway of Middle Fork visited this sec tion one day last week. MSS.G.EHNSLEY PASSES i S. C. Mrs. Mary Tinsley, age 66, wife of G. H. (Bud) Tinslcy, of Easley, ? ^ S. C., (Anderson county) died on J August 5th, after suffering a hsart attack which only lasted a few minutes. Mr. and Mrs. Tinsley were both natives of Transylvania county, and reared most of their family here, moving to South Carolina in 1913. -0 The funeral was in charge of Gant Undertakers of Liberty, S. C-, at which Rev. Mr. Jones, a former pas tor, and Rev. Mr. Lockee, present pastor of Flat Rock Baptist Church (of which Mrs. Tinsley v.As a mem- ^ ber) officiated. The pall hearers were Mrs. Tinsk-J-'s five sor3 and one grandson. Interment was at Flat Rock Cemetery. The funeral services were attended by several hundred friends and many relatives. Music was rendered by the Flat Rock male quartet. . Surviving Mrs. Tinsley is a hus band, five son? and six daughters, and fifty-odd grandchildren, all of whom reside in the Flat Rock section of Anderson county, in which locality the Tinsley family is highly respected and loved.
