P. had before him one day last week for investi gation, upon a liquor .charge, Grady Cabe and others, at the completion of which Grady was held to the Superior Court, the others whose names we do not know, were turned loose. Mr. Clinton (Buster) Green,, son of Mr. W. H. Green of Route One was able to be in town last Satur day after pulling through a very critical spell of sickness. Mr. C. A. Lowry of Route two, came to town Monday on business. Mr. L. M. Leas of Cullasaja', canic to Franklin Monday on business. V Mr. C. D. Hodgin of Prentiss was a business visitor in this city Monday. Mr. W. E. Mozely of Otto was in town for a short time Monday evening. : v. .- - George Carpenter, J. P. had some very interesting meetings last' week. His congregations consisted in part of Ingram Houston, Will Rogers, Bert Southards, Hilliard Greenv Frank Burgess (Col) and Marion Sanders, all accused of having some "moon shine" in their posession. But .upon investigation it was found that only three; viz; Will Rogers, Hilliard Green and Marion Sanders could be directed to appear before the " big judge at court. The cases against the other defendents were dismissed. Meets A very cnthuiastic meeting Macon county chapter U. D. oi C the was held Monday, April 8 with Mr Will Cunningham hostess. Plans were made to get permission from the state Highway Commission to plant flowers along the bus route up the town hill and from the Log Cabin garage past summer hill.' Also at the casli and west city limits of the bus line. Many tourists will pass through our little town this summer. h is the desire of the Daughters that a eleaniness be made of our town. The chapter is interested in the election of the town Board, that they may be men of civic pride and cour age to carry things through. Further plans were made for the centennial celebration which will probably- be about the middle' of June, as this is to be a Home Coining event. After confering with the Rotary Club, further plans will be announced. The following delagataes are expect ing to atend the meeting of the first Division of the, U. D. C. at Black Mt., April 27. Mrs. Carl Slaglc, Mrs. Will Cunningham,- Mrs. Lyman Higdon, Mrs. F. L. Siler. Mrs. T. J. Johnston was elected vice-president at this meeting. Each member is a committee of one to give or procure zinnia, cosmos, Mary Gold or "Black-eyed Susans" plants or seed for the highway.
