Henson Visits In Sylva Second Lt. Lillie M. Henson, Army nurse, of Tryon was in Sylva last week visiting Mrs. s Dick Green and other friends. Lt. Henson is the first Western North Carolinian to report to the Army ground and service forces re Pfc. Melvin L. Bradley Serving In France Pfc. Melvin L. (Lewis) Bradley, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bradley of Greens Creek and the husband of Mrs. Hilda Sutton Bradley of Greens Creek. He was inducted into service December, 1942, at Camp Croft, S. C. he received his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. From there he was sent to the desert section of California tor maneuvers. He was then sent to Fort Bragg and from there oversea^ He is now serving in FranegT His wife and three weeks, old son, Melvin L. Bradley. Jr., make their home with ner parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Sutton who entered ser vice in July, 1942. He was inducted at Camp Croft, S. C. He has received training at Keesler Field and Gulfport Field, Miss, where he is now stationed. Before his in duction he was employed in Newport News, Va. there she served for one and half years in an army station hospital in North Africa, near Oi*an and then was sent to the army general hospital out ride Naples.** She returned to the States Sept. 22 and spent a 21-day furlough visiting ner mother and friends before going to Grove Park Inn, where she is now stationed.
