Appreciates Surprise
Birthday Party
Some tmies a surprise is an up
setting affair, at other times a
happy occasion. Such was the fifth
of this month when a group of
friends from Beta and Sylva came
to the home of fcv. Thad F. Deitz
in the evening twilight of the day
to pay honor to him in the evening
time of his earthly life, it being
the 77th birthday of the life-long
minister of the gospel of the W.N.C.
mountains, fifty years in th? min
istry.
The visiting group came with
expressions of joy and appreciation
that awakened the heart of the
/vV' preacher wth new love for those
*>>?? so kindly remembered him
wtih gifts and cash that would
meet a need in the life of anyone
in similar circumstances.
No words in my little vocabulary
can express half the joy and thanks
to a group of such friends and
neighbors.
Blessings on everyone of them.
