The big help came from a Giant an, George Cronk. who forwarded the story that it was he who kicked Boysen, accidentally. Cronk said he was walking across the field after the game, and that Boysen either was pushed or fell. "I suppose I kicked him," Cronk said. "I mutter ed''Sorry' and kept go ing. I didn't think anything more of it at the time. Cronk also said he saw Boysen lunge at Durocher first, and that Leo apparently swung his elbow without looking back ? and that's wha% made Boysen fall. Boysen claims Durocher punched him from behind and then kicked him in the groin. Whether it be the end of a fiery baseball career or just another episode in Leo's life, this incident should prove to all that it does not pay to meddle with organized baseball in such a manner. Miller, always a slugger, s has a knack of winning ball games t by knocking the ball across the fence. And he could have picked no better place to do it than the * Western Carolina League, the home 3 of short fences. * As for the rest of the circuit, . they will have their distance hitters, who will pop off during the season, but we'll give Yount and Miller the edge to fight it out fo^ the individual slugger honors. Asheville Fight Pronoter Ted Ball has arranged a ight card of 32 rounds that promses not to go the limit. In his ireliminary matches he has iraught in some new punchers for i couple of fights who are noted f or their excessive knockout powir. All prelims promise to be exiting. But the main event of the eveling featuring Lonnie (Bulldog) ^ lutherford of Roanoke, Va., and Jluggin' Johnny Kilday of Boston, # tfass., should be a killer. We saw Bulldog flatten Joe Leonard, Charotte's outstanding middleweight, n just 37 seconds of the second ound three weeks ago, and believe ne, his* right fist carries the kick >f a mule. Yet, Kilday has compiled one of he outstanding ring records of he northern middleweight com?rs. It is reported that he also las a dynamite right. Speaking for just that one punch ve saw Bulldog throw at Leonard hat flattened the Charlotte boy, ve'll say he will take Kilday by t knockout, and it shouldn't be in he latter rounds.
