Mrs. Edith Crawford was joint hostess. Miss flattie Hilda Sutton, chairman, presided. Twenty-one members and two visitors, Mrs. C. M. Warren and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis, were present. Miss Violet Mann was enrolled as a new member. The Annie Armstrong offering was taken at this time. It was ^oted that each member wouk pay one dollar toward the purchase of an electric coffee urn foi the church kitchen. An inspirational program op "Am I My Brother's Keeper?" was given by Mrs. Warren with other members taking parts. The hostesses served a sweet course during the social hour. Gilts to be given to the Hospital Auxiliary and left at Massie Furniture Store for the Bazaar to be sponsored by the Hospital Auxiliary on March 25, were brought. A nominating committee for nominating officers for the Guild for the new year was appointed as follows: Mrs. Olin Bell, Mrs. Alva Ginn, and Miss Lticille Wilson. The hostesses served a salad course. In 1948 .Lois Louise Edwards was county wiryier in Better Methods Elec- ^ trie contest and was awarded a trip to Raleigh. Harold Stillwell won the same contest. Miss Edwards, won first placte in the Dress Review in 1949. She was also awarded a sterling silver pin for winning first place in Room Improvement in 1949. Mrs. Buchanan One Of Group Directing Huckleberry Workshop Mrs. Lillian Buchanan of Cullowhee has been selected as representative from Jackson County to serve on the Advisory Committee of the Huckleberry Mountain Workshop-Camp, Inc., according to an announcement by Evelyn G. Haynes, executive director. Serving on this committee with Mrs. Buchanan are both Senators Clyde Hoey and Frank P. Graham, as well as Congressman Herbert C. Bonner, Graham A. Barden, F.
