Marshall N; C., Mar. 1, 1929 THE NEWS-RECORD THIIID PAGZ SPECIAL ROUND TRIP RATES TO WASHINGTON ACCOUNT PRES IDENTIAL INAUGURATION THE SOUTHERN RAILWAY will sell round trip ticket from all stations to Washington for the inauguration for parties of twenty-five or more moving on one ticket in both directions at a rate of one fare plus 25c. For individuals the rate will be a fare and a half for the round trip. The tickets will be sold on March 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with final limit to return to original starting point before Midnight of March 10th. Those visiting Mrs. Woodard Chan dler and daughter Thelma Sunday were Mrs. J. O. Revis and two daugh ters Olive and Vonnalee, and Miss Odie Chandler, Miss Virgie Dunbar and Miss Bernice Coyne. Those visiting Miss Rose Frazier Tuesday afternoon were Mrs. J. O. Revis, Mrs. Henry Ballard, Mrs. Fina Ramsey and Mrs. Rash. Mr. Dock Treadway spent Satur day night with his sister, Mrs. Liza Parris at Hot Springs. Mr. Ernest Ramsey and his brother Robert and Miss Rose Frazier were in Asheville Monday afternoon. Mr. Oakley Rector and little Rob ert Ramsey were on Thomas Branch Thursday morning. Miss Neta Thomas and Miss. Lena Thomas were in Walnut last Sun day afternoon. Mrs. C. F. Johnson and two small daughters were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jake Ramsey Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Robert Johnson was on this branch Sunday afternoon. Misses Agnes and Pearl Brigman and Mr. Carl Hensley were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Cloure and family Sun day afternoon. Mr. Jim Rice was on the branch Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Lloyd Chandler and two daughters, Annie and Hazel were vis iting Mrs. J. C. Revis and family last Sunday. Mr. Dock Treadway was visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. 0. Revis and family Sunday. WHITE ROCK SCHOOL DOINGS By 7th Grader We are having some rainy weather at this writing. The sunshine society met Friday morning and had a debate. Resolved that Washington was a greater presi dent than Lincoln. Affirmative: Rena, Helen, Rosalee, Guy V. Negative: Ruby, Thelma, Lillie, Nelson. The negative got one vote and affirmative two and the off side won. We are glad to have our school mate, Sabra Tweed back in school. We are very sorry of Mrs. Mammie Wallin house burning up. We are also sorry to hear of Vada Tweed's mother, Mrs. C. L. Tweed, getting shot. We are sorry that our teacher's wife, Mrs. Jack V. Joyce, is sick. Miss Crafton, Home Demonstrator, was with us Friday morning. We were glad to have her. We are all looking forward wit'i some dread and hope to our exami nations next week.
