Ml rm li GAFEGT THE MOST RELIABLE TOE MOOT COMFORTAQSE Our Park System Senator Walsh, of Massachusetts, has raised the question as to whether our national parks are as well manag ed as they can be. He quotes a com plaint that there is too much opera tion for the benefit of concession aires. That is a complaint that should be investigated but should not be accepted until it is. The parks are for the benefit of the people. 0r belief is that the men, for the most part, in Government service have that view. Whether any concessionaires act differently can be ascertained, and they can be relieved of responsi bility. One of the curses of the Government at times is the "under bidding" business. It is reported that Postmaster Gen eral Brown is determined to cut the deficit of his department one hun dred and thirty-seven millions cur rent. That is a lot of money and most of us would declare ourselves bankrupt if we had to meet it But why is it? l.Why should I pay for your postage or you for mine? There is the nub.4 A lot of people are get ting special privileges some way. It (would seem that with all the facts of experience. Over a good many years the income and the outgo on postal service could, be approximated to a reasonable degree of equality. There are so many anomalies in the service that we suggest that some outside parties be 'put to work. The whole thing has been s political mix-up.
