Mrs. Lee Fow'iu- who had been on a visit, and whos health was not so good, is now ab'e to be home agam. Her friends hopa she can soon be entirely well. Mrs. Will iteming spent a few days with he- daughter. Mrs. Clark, and family last week in Asheville. The PTA met last Tuesday and it was one of the best I think I ever attended. The old officers were nice and I feel the new ones will do a great part also. The new maps were very nice and useful, also the new at las, and many more things the PTA grademothers and all others have made the cash possible. The movie on India and New and Old England was s0 very helpful and interesting. The lunchroom bought over $40.00 worth of new dishes, etc., and with so many helping out on so many free lunches, and the great work of Mrs. Shearouse and the oth er ladies, we are not in debt in the lunchroom. A number of improve ments have been made on the school grounds, and last but not least, ev eryone here and alhour friends, I'm sure, are happy to know we are to have that gym and three much need ed classrooms. The Amateur Night last Friday was a great success nice eats, good program and such nice prizes. We had prizes for all who took a part even for our principal, Mr. Shear - ouse. All who were absent missed a nice evening. The chance case was won by Mra. Bill Ferg won. Mrs. Grover Long spent last week ; nd with her daughter, Mrs. Charles r' Douglas and Mr. Douglas.
