Ledford, native of Madi son County, died May 7, in a Wash ington, I). C. hospital after a short illness. Death was caused by a cere bral hemorrhage. He graduated from High School and for many years had been em ployed in Detroit, Mich. For the last 6everal years he had lived in Hern don, Va., and was employed in Washington, D. C. He is survived by the widow, and one son, two brothers, Dewey of .Gainsville, Fla., Marshall of Arling ton, Va., three sisters, Mrs. Whit "Williams of Fairview, N. C, Mrs. Donald Shelton of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Lida Ball of Marshall RFD 1. B'. Reed, Danny Windsor, Larry Hunter, Paul Houston, Faye Dockery, Clyde Roberts', Doris Caldwell and David Wyatt. Going with the above group were Mrs. Peek, Mrs. Hugh Payne, Mrs. Thedore Worley, grademothers, and Bailey Payne, bus driver. After a picnic lunch the group went to the imperial Theater where Decoration There will be a decoration at the Dry Pond Cemetery the fourth Sun day, May 22. The public is cordially invited. The memo was issued to clarify some confusion whether motorists are required to -stop, as on a conven tional highway, slow down or keep going. The agency admitted there was little danger to children discharged from a bus on a dual highway sepa rated by an "island.- But under cur rent, laws, unchanged so far by the General Assembly, traffic both ways must stop irrespective of highway layout.
