Joe Morgan returned last week from Boulder, Colo., where he at tended the summer sessions of the University of Colorado, and is spending sometime visiting rel atives near Mar Hill While there, he spent sometime at Es tes Park, climbed the Arapahoe Glacier, attended performances of tfhe jiJuilliard String Quartet, and the opera, "Die Waikure," at the Red Rocks Outdoor Theatre near Denver, and journeyed to Cheyenne, Wyoming to see the rodeo on Frontier1 Day. En route he visited a friend in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Mr. and Mrs. Matt J. Stroud of Ellenbora announce the mar riage of their daughter, Carolyn Jean, to David Hal Buckner, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Buckner of Mars Hill. The marriage took place at Logan, Utah, Aug. 26 1958 at 12:15 p. m. The Rev. O R. Bunner officiated at the dou ble ring ceremony. Mrs. Buckner was graduated from Gardner-Webb Junior Col lege and received a B.S. degree in music from Western Carolina College, Cullowhee, this year. She taught voice and piano in the ShaJlotte High School for three years and first grade at Saluda in the 1956-57 school year. , 'Mr. Buckner. also a graduate of Western Carolina College, re ceived his B.S. degree there in 1954. Earlier he had been grad uated from Mars Hill Junior Col lege. He is also a veteran of two years of Army service, during which he spent a year in Germa ny. He taught in Cullowhee High School last year and at the same time served as tennis coach at Western Carolina College. He has done graduate study at WOC and also at Idaho State College at Pocatello.
