Mrs. Plato Henderson and daughter, Patricia, of Tampa, Florida, are spending this week with his mother, Mrs. Sophronia Henderson here. They are also visiting other relatives and friends in Marshall and Asheville. The Virginia firm is the former plant which was form erly located in Marshall, known as the Sorensen Woodbending ' Company. Mrs. Thomas writes: For one to understand why the poem was writ ten it is necessary that an explanation be given of the event which gave the impetus for my brother. Ted Finley's writing it v As we were entering the bus to return to Hot Springs on one of our trips, .the bus driver asked, "Where to?" I said "Hot Springs, North Carolina." His reply was, "Why do you want to go there? There's nothing but a river there."' My retort was to the effect, "There are beauti ful mountains and fine people there."
