He was a lifelong resident of Madison County, a veteran of World War I, and a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Matilda Roberts Dockery; two brothers, Leonard of Hot Springs and Troy of Marshall Rt. 4; and a sister, Mrs. Mollie Landers of Aaheville. Services were held Tuesday at 2 p. m., in Bowman Funeral Home. The Rev. David Clapp officiated and burial was in Kortner Ceme tery on Doe Branch. Pallbearers were James Gentry, Charles W. Collins, W. Mr. and Mrs. Haf ffuckner and son, David, of Sylva, were here also for a week-end visit. Mrs. Avon Ray left Friday for a visit to her daughter, Mrs. Rob ert Fleming, and family at Elkin. Mr. Bobby Thomas, AGI, of the Naval Air Station, Norfolk, visit ed his wife here last week-end.
