Buckner, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Buck ner of Rt 2, Marshall are visiting ports in the European area follow ing participation in the largest amphibious combat training exer cise in the Atlantic since World War II. Both men are serving with the Second Battalion, Second Marine Division, Camp Lejeuhe, N. C. The operation, called "Steel Pike," saw 28,000 Marines of the Second Marine Division, Second Marine Aircraft Wing and Force Troops, Fleet Marine Force, At- Spanish Marines landing from landing craft and helicopters of a combined U.-Spanish Fleet of 94 vessels which included ships of the United States Military Sea Trans port Service and chartered ships of the U. Vision Replace windshield wiper blades if the rubber is dried out Put anti-freeze solution in the windshield washer fluid. Check all lights, including turn signal indicators, and keep them clean. Be sore your heater-defroster system is functioning properly. Carry a combination scraper-squeegee brush for clean ing windshield and windows. Mr. and Mrs. Lon Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Anderson and Elis abeth of Kingsport, Tenn., visited Mr. and Mrs. Will Parker and Mrs. Callie Parker Sunday. Freddy Trantham had as his guests Sunday afternoon, Jimmy Rollins, Gary and Stevie Frisbee, and Betty June Parker. Mrs. Carolina Pangle called on Becky Wyatt Saturday. Mrs. Cecil Pangle, Ken and An gela visited her sister, Mrs. Han dy Allison of Spring Creek Johnny Payne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Payne, who is serv ing with the Armed Forces, left for Germany last week. (This Week's News) Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Johnson, Lance and Lenoir Yarber of Ten nessee had supper Sunday night with Mrs. Carolina Pangle. Mr. Johnson preached an interestinor sermon at Bethel Christian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Parker and Johnny, of Chattanooga, Tenn., spent the night with his mother and sister, Mrs. Callie Parker and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Trantham and family. Mrs. Carolina Pangel, Mrs. C. R. Whitson and Donna visited Charlie and Becky Wyatt Sunday. Mr. Cecil Pangle had as his guest Friday night Mr. Thomas Allison and David, Mrs. Buena Frisbee and Gary, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Gardin and Mr. and Mrs. Hu bert Pangle.
