Lankford, 77, a re tired Kentucky coal company of ficial who was born in Madison Count v. died Tuesday, February 2, I9fi5 in Mkkilesboro, Ky., after a long illness. He was a son of the late John lacoli and Delilah Teniplin I.ankf ron of Hot Springs. He attended Holland Institute and I)rau(rhan's Business College in Knoxville, and spent 41 years with the Clear Fork Coal Co., in Fonde. Ky., rising from clerk to president before he retired in 1951. Surviving are three brothers, Vern and FxW Lankford of Hot With Our Boys In Service .y. ,y. .y. .y. .y. y ifr USS Sylvania (AFS-2) (FHT NC) Radioman Second Class Johnny Kigsby, USN, son of Mr and Mrs. James Kigsby of Rt. f, Marshall, is serving aboard the combat stores ship USS Sylvania operating out of Norfolk, Va. The Sylvania is the Navv'-' newest underway replenishment ship, designed to re-supply ships of the fleet at sea with fresh, frozen and dry provisions, gener al stores and aviation spare parts In addition to having the most modern design of trolley high lines to transfer her stores, Syl vania is also equipped with flight deck, a helicopter hangar, and two Boeing Ch-46 "Sea Knieht" heliconters. capable of Springs, and Clifford Lankford of making replenishment transfers by air. The ship is scheduled to deploy to the U. S. Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean this spring. Crew members of the ship will have the opportunity of visiting Spanish, French and Italian ports whle with the Sixth Fleet Momstown, Tenn., and a sister Mrs. Carrie Forrester of Hot Springs.
