CORD Rubber Stamp The rubber stamp Chairman of the Board of Counter Commissioners tells the voters of Madison County through The News-Record that this is not a rubber stamp administration. That statement amuses me and others who have observed how this admin istration is operated. Mr. Doyle Cody, the so-called independent, self made Republican Chairman of the present Republi can County Board of Commissioners, failed and re fused to buy 100 steel traps at I .90 per trap in order to make at least a token effort to protect the citizens, children, and the domestic animals of Madison Coun ty. I cannot believe that Madison County is that near broke. I do believe that Mr. Cody had not re ceived permission from Mr. Clyde M. Roberts who uses Mr. Cody and the others to carry out his wish es. Oh, incidentally, I am a life-long: Republican from No 7 Township; however, my son, Cordell Mas sey, used his judgment and registered as a Demo crat and I think served the County well as janitor of the Courthouse At least, Mr. Doyle Cody, who is Clyde M. Roberts' rubber stamp, told my son, Cordell, that he had done a good job and the only reason he was being fired was because of his politics . Why get two rubber stamps when you have one that is readily available, Mr. Doyle Cody. Signed: JONAH MASSEY, A Little Pine Republican, No. 7 Township Pd. Political Advt. Dairymen Did Fine Job In Increasing County Income The sear of 1064 was not a very good greasing season, as it is ev ideneed h a reduction in the mmai f tnhurn produced, in HAS STOOD THE the SIB anal of feed produced, and the ssmeuat of beef produced in this area. In the fee of these adverse rmwhr conditions and the decreased number of dairy men in Madison County, the re maining dairymen increased the entire soma in Madison County by 884,884 over 196S income fig ures. The dairymen of Madison County have a right to feel proud of the Use Job they have done In 1964. and we hone that they can do an even better iob in 195 Dairvinsr. eJtfaoucfa a confining and hard business, enjoys a rath er stable market and above av erse standard of liviiUT. If the dairymen are to maintain their position economically, they must continue to move forward in their individual business and as smooth running organised group. Anytime a group enjoys the po sition such as our Western North Carolina Dairymen have, there will always be other groups which will be tryinsr to train some of their prosperity; and only as an organized functioning association can our dairymen maintain their position.
