Sunday School Lesson FOR MARCH 18, 1973 LESSON TEXT: Genesis 3:1-19; Psalm 14:1-3 Jeremiah 26:23; 17:9-10 Romans 1:28 to 2:24 The primary objective of this lesson for today is to stimulate us to activity as we recognize that man has strayed from God, and must seek restoration in repen tance. This lesson, indeed, is a deeply personal one for all of us, for the adult and responsible person freely recognizes that sin is an in stinct born within each of us, from childhood up. Recognizing this, he is aware of the battles it entails, and aware also that he needs help beyond his own powers in dealing with it and its resulting temptations. For, let's face it, the face of sin often wears the mask of disirability ... personal gratification, ease, wealth, success. . to name but a few ! It is only when the mask is removed that the ugliness is discovered the grief felt by the sinner, and which en compasses, all too often, the innocent parties around him; the guilt with which he must Con. Taylor Opposes Aid To N. Vietnam U. S. Rep. Roy A. Taylor announced Monday his strong opposition to economic aid to North Vietnam and to the granting of amnesty to those who refused military service Taylor said, "I cannot support the President's recommendation that Congress appropriate $24 billion for economic aid to North Vietnam." Emphasizing that the war was caused by the aggression of North Vietnam into South Vietnam and that the com munists will not be paying South Vietnam for war damages, he stated, "I do not believe that we should pay North Vietnam for such damages." Taylor stated that following World Warll, U. S. financial assistance through the Marshall Plan was designed to strengthen the free countries Attend GOP Meet In Raleigh F. W. C contend daily, throughout his life; the loss of hope, the sense of personal un worthiness that clouds the joy that living should be. The only way of healing that man can find in these cir cumstances must lie in ac ceptanceacceptance of God, and of His Son, Jesus Christ. As we have seen from our previous lessons, this is God's world, and man has an un deniable responsibility to be a good steward therof ; he also is called to responsible stewardship of himself of his actions, and his witnessing. And deep inside him is the need to BELIEVE. ..even if he does not fully recognize it. For God has placed that longing within his soul, and the soul has immortality even if the flesh that houses it does not. Paul's indictment of man lists that which is ob jectionable to the Almighty God: unrighteousness, covetousness, maliciousness, envy, murder, deceit, pride, disobedience. Dare we deny these things9 Dare we stand up and say that we have not , at some time or another in our lives, been guilty of such sin'' And should we be so intrepid and foolish have we been pure so as to prevent communist takeovers He stressed that, "the Administration proposal today would result in American tax dollars being used to strengthen com munism in Southeast Asia This I cannot support." Voicing opposition to am nesty for draft dodgers and deserters, Taylor said he believes that "it would not be fair to the servicemen who fought and risked their lives and to those who died or were taken prisoners to grant such pardon to those who deserted their country in time of need." He suggested that if those "who deserted want to be accepted back into this country, they should return to their military units, take their punishment, and serve out the remainder of their enlistment time " sponsored by the GOP to build a two party system and to maintain the momentum that the GOP gained in North Carolina in November when Jim Holshouser and Jesse Helms were elected Governor and Senator respectively. Placards, huge buttons, and bumper stickers were distributed to the represen tatives of the 100 counties of North Carolina. Each of these items l or paraphernalia I carried this slogan: "Register Republican! We're on the Move in North Carolina." Gov James Holshouser endorsed "Operation Reassessment ", saying in letters to all county chairmen that it was an opportunity for the GOP to "build its registration and increase our victories." Thursday, March IS, -. - in thought, as well as deed.? For the Bible clearly states that in God's sight the con doning of evil is an abomination unto God just as much as is the perpetration of evil. We cannot, therefore, judge one who has sinned, if the only thing that has kept us from committing a similar sin is a kind of moral cowardice. For God's laws are broken not only by overt acts of disobedience, but also by inward desires. 1972 NOVA Coupe, 6 cylinder, automatic transmission, Radio & Heater. 1972 DATSUN Station Wagon, 4 speed transmission, Radio, Heater, extra clean. 1971 VEGA, 3 speed Radio extra clean. 1969 FORD Galaxie 500, 4-door, V-8 engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, air conditioned. 1969 CHEVELLE Malibu Coupe, V-8 engine, autmoatic transmission.
