Day-to-day living e x -penses eat up a lot. And maybe part goes in the sav ings account for this year s vacation or another immedi ate goal. A good chunk of that money seems to disappear by itself. So it's no wonder that when it comes to long-term goals, or when an emergency comes up, there simply aren't funds to meet the need Unless there was a nest egg building up all that time. A good way to build that nest egg is with U.S. Sav ings Bonds The easy way to buy them is to sign up for the Payroll Savings Plan where you work. An amount you specify will be set aside from your paycheck and used to buy Bonds. And while you're going through grocery bills, car re pairs, vacation weekends, kids' toys and nights out on the town, you'll know you're saving money too. One, for instance, helps people make the most of foods they eat to help renew vitality. It may park the appetite, particular ly when taken before meals. In cases of marginal vitamin mineral shortages, it helps sup plement the diet. Interesting ly, to motivate people to take the liquid regularly, it has a tasty sherry wine base. It it 250 times as strong as even laminated safety glass. Acrylic plastic, made by Itotim & Haas, Inc., of Pitt sburgh, under the name Plexiglass. It is five to 20 times as strong as laminated safety glass, according to thickness. Tempered glass, which is five limes as strong as laminated glass. laminated glass the common automobile windshield glass, which is several times stronger than common flat glass. None of these will break up into big shards with murderous rutting edges if people walk or fall into them. Tempered glass must le made to size at the factory before it is temiered. The olhers can be cut and trimmed on the job. Polycarbonate is the most costly but its extwnse is more than justified where the risk is high or there is a vandalism fwril. The committee said tran paretit glass in dangerous areas always should be decorated with decals so people will see it. USED CARS! h :c
