Phono 609-3901 0 MRS. HERBERT KANUPP Mr. Harriett ' Anderson Kanupp, 76, of 64 Sherwood Road, Asheville, died unex pectedly Tuesday June 4, at her home. A native of Madison County and a resident of Buncombe County since 1923, she was a former school teacher and a daughter of the late James and Mary Freeman Anderson. Surviving are the husband, Herbert V. Kanupp; a son, Jerry Dean Kanupp of Columbus, S.C.; a daughter. Miss Wilma J. Kanupp of the home; and three brothers, Fred Anderson of Hot Springs, Albert Anderson of Jamestown, R.I. and Walter Anderson of Dearborn, Mich. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Penland and Sons Funeral Home. Burial was in Calvary Churchyard. MRS. A. L. PLEMMONS Mrs. Emma Goforth Plemmons, 92, of 125 Spears Ave., Asheville, died Monday, June 10, 1974, in an Asheville nursing home after an ex tended illness. She was the widow of A. L. Plemmons, who died in 1949. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Asheville. A native of Madison County, she had resided in Asheville for the past 47 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Marshall Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Pritchard Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Surviving are one son, E. W. Plemmons, of Marshall; one daughter, Mrs. Orla Joyner, of Asheville; one sister, Miss Elizabeth Goforth, of Asheville; and one grand daughter. Bowman Funeral Home was in charge. ROBERT HOWELL Robert P. Howell, 91, of Mars Hill, died Friday June 7, 1974 in a Burke County hospital after a long illness. A native of Mitchell County, he was a retired employe of the North Carolina State High way Department and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Ramsey of Weaverville; two sons, Orville Howell of Mars Hill and John U. Howell of Weaverville; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Capps Funeral Home. The Revs. Jeff Capps, W.L. Lynch and Richard Price officiated. Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold and Roger Howell, Dean and Gary Ledford, Bill Murray and Donald Cantrell. MRS. LEE BRIGMAN Services for Mrs. Lela Edwards Brig man, 82, of Rt. 2 Weaverville, who died Sunday June 9, 1974 were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Beech Glenn Baptist Church. A native of Madison County and a resident of Buncombe County for the past 10 years, she attended Beech Glenn Baptist Church and was the widow of Lee Brigman. A native and lifelong resident of Madison County, he was a carpenter and brick mason and a member of Vance Masonic Lodge No. 293 AF and AM. He was a son of the late James and Mollie Davis Navy. Surviving are a son. Alex Navy of the home; six sisters, Mrs. Dan L. Wells and Misses Laura, Sophia and Violet Navy of Mars Hill, Miss Martha Navy of Clemson, S.C. and Mrs. Mary Jackson of Gray Hawk, Ky.; a brother, James P. A lifelong resident of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late J.S. and Matilda Cook Chandley.
