Sealed bids will be received
by the Town of Mars Hill in the
Mars Hill Town Hall, Mars'
Hill, North Carolina, until 3
p.m., local time, October 31,
1975, and immediately
thereafter publicly opened
and read aloud.
Separate bids will be
received for the following
portions of the work:
(1) General Contract
(2) Plumbing Contract
(3) Heating
(4) Electrical Contract
Bids shall be for furnishing
all equipment, labor,
materials, services and
supervision required for the
complete and proper per
formance of the work called
for in the Contract
Documents.
The project is for the con
struction of a fire station
consisting of a main floor and
basement. Construction is
brick and block masonry,
structural steel and reiiiforced
concrete.

available for examination in
the office of the Architect:

Plans and Specifications
may be obtained from the
Architect upon deposit of
$25.00 per set. The full deposit
will be refunded upon return
of Plans and Specifications in
good condition within ten days
after date set for bid opening
to those parties submitting a
bona fide bid.
Each bid shall be ac
companied by Bid Security in
the amount of not less than
five per cent of the bid. Bid
Security shall be either cash, a
certified check drawn on a
bank or trust company in
sured by F.D.I.C. or a Bid
Bond by a surety company
licensed to conduct business in
the State of North Carolina
and complying with North
Carolina laws for double in
demnity. In the event of
failure of the successful
Bidder(s) to execute the
agreement and furnish
satisfactory Performance and
Labor and Material Payment
Bonds within ten days of
notice of award, such Bid
Security shall be retained by
the Owner as liquidated
damages.

properly licensed under ap
plicable laws of the State of
North Carolina.

execute the Standard Form of
Agreement between Owner
and Contractor (AIA

edition) and shall also furnish
required Performance and
Payment Bonds along
therewith.
Successful Bidders shall
commence work within thirty
days of notification of award.
The Contract Tune shall
start on the day of execution of
the agreement.
The Date of Completion
shall be as stated in the
Supplementary Conditions.
Periodic payments will be
made on the basis of 90 per
cent of monthly estimates and
final payment upon ac
ceptance of completed work.
