ERNEL SHELTON who were married Wednesday night, October 22, 1975, at 6 o'clock in the Carmen Church of God. The Rev. Winford Shelton, pastor, performed the ceremony. The bride's granddaughter, Renee Chandler, was ring bearer. The bride is the former Mrs. Wanda Jo King, of Route 3, Marshall. Mr. Shelton is also a native of Route 3, Marshall. They are now residing on Route 3, Marshall. REEVES The children of Mrs. A.S. Reeves of Walnut held a family reunion at her home on Monday of last week. Those attending were Amos K. The Rev. T. Spencer Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Massey returned to their home in Chatham, Va. on Monday after spending a few days in Marshall with Mrs. Massey's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ramsey. Mr. and Mrs. George T. Whitehurst and son of Greenville, S.C. spent the week-end in ' Marshall with Mrs. Whitehurst's brother-in-law and sister, Rev. and Mrs. Spencer LeGrand. Dr. and Mrs. J.L. McElroy had as week-end guests two of their sons, Larry of New Carolton, Md. and David of Asheville. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heinz of Powell, Tenn. visited his aunt, Mrs. Annie Mae D. White; and his uncle, Bill Deaver, in Marshall on Monday. They were accompanied to Knoxville, Tenn. on Monday afternoon by Mr. Heinz's mother, Mrs. Victor Kinser, who had spent several days in Marshall as the guest of her sister and brother Mrs Kinser will visit her daughter in Knoxville for a few days before returning to her home in I,argo, Fla. Dr. and Mrs. J 1. McKlroy spent last week in Chat tanooga, Tenn. where Dr. McElroy attended the Ten nessee Valley Medical Association. Mr. and Mrs. Guy White and Mrs. White's bruther, Hubert Worley, spent Saturday night and Sunday in Taylorsville with Mrs. White's sister, Mrs. John Roberson. Mr. and Mrs. Guy White had as guests last week Mrs White's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Chandler, of Longmont, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Ed I.. Niles returned to their home in Marshall on Tuesday of last week from Auburn, Ala. where they spent a few days with their younger daughter, Miss Cynthia Niles, who is a freshman at Auburn University. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Young and Mrs. Evelyn Cain, of Traveler's Rest, S C , were in Marshall last F riday due to the death of Mr. Young's and Mrs. Cain's aunt, Mrs Rachel Fowler They are both natives of Barnard Mr. and Mrs W I'aige Bryan, of Houston. Texas, have been visiting Mr Bryan's parents, Mr and Mrs Polk Bryan of Route 1, Marshall They, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Polk Bryan, also visited their grandson, son and daughter-m -law. the William Ross Brvans in Kingsport, Tenn Mr and Mrs Aaron Reese, of Route 1, Marshall, attended the funeral services of James Dexter Burchfield at Bryson City, last Thursday. FkKE LeGrand conducted the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyce H. Mayhew of Marshall. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Herbert Coman of Swannanoa. The church was decorated with greenery and can delabra. Charles Huey, organist, presented a program of wedding music. "Trumpet Voluntary", Purcell, was used for the processional and "A Festal Fanfare", Bach, for the recessional. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of Candlelight satin trimmed in Belgium lace and sequin pearls. Her veil was attached to a Juliet cap and she carried a bouquet of white and yellow roses Miss Gale Mayhew of Marshall, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Coman of Asheville, brother of the bridegroom; Boyce Mayhew of Marshall, brother of the bride; Frank Chambers and Roy Holbert of Knoxville, Tenn. The bride is a graduate of Marshall High School and has been employed as a respiratory therapist at Park West Hospital of Knoxville. The bridegroom attended Western Carolina University and is employed by Sterchi Furniture Company of Knoxville. A reception followed the ceremony in the fellowship hall of the church. Serving at the reception were Mrs. Wade Huey, Miss Ann McKinney and Mrs. Gary Sams The couple will reside in Knoxville. The bride-elect was honored at a miscellaneous shower on Tuesday evening of last week at the French Broad KMC building in Marshall. The main purpose of this meeting was to install new Western District Officers for the 1975-76 school year. The convention began with the visiting schools registering for voting, and touring Madison's building. Everyone seemed quite im pressed with our school. The actual meeting began with the call to order by Harrell Wood, the presiding president of the Western District clubs. After various standard proceedings, a welcome to all the visiting schools was given by Mr. J.C. Wallin, principal of Madison High School. Following the welcome came the business session, which included the reading of minutes by Shay Pittman, the presentation of candidates by Harrell Wood, Ralph HI.
