Servicemen In The News AIRMAN THORPE DENVER - Airman Gary A. Thorpe, son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Thorpe of Rt. 4, Marshall, N.C., has graduated at Lowry AFB, Colo., from the U.S. Air Force munitions maintenance specialist course conducted by the Air Training Command. The airman, now qualified to Inspect, assemble and dispose of explosive munitions, is being assigned to Andersen AFB, Guam, for duty with a unit of the Strategic Air Command. During an intermission of the dance, Freddie Bishop, president of VICA, presented three VICA Appreciation Awards. They went to Mr. John D. Ray, Mr. Douglas D. Young, and Mrs. Sheila R. Ramsey. PAUL REVERE AWARD NC-VICA is proud to an nounce the availability of the Paul Revere Award. This award Is exclusively for VICA members. It is sponsored by the D-S. Department of Labor and National VICA. A student from every state will win a Paul Revere Award Medallion and that winner will participate in their regional competition. The winner at National Conference and his or her teacher will win an all expenses paid trip to the Nation's Capitol.
