Deborah Ann Myers Weds Jerry R. Bass Deborah Ann Myers and Jerry Randall Bass were married at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Forks of Ivy Baptist Church in Bernardsville The Rev. Vincent Young conducted the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Vincent Myers of Stockton Road in Weaverville. She was given in marriage by her father CF Campaign Ends; Results Announced Mrs. Joyce Plemmons, chairperson for the Kiss Your Baby Campaign for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in the Marshall area, announces that the campaign has been completed Total funds collected were $333 Mrs. Roy Young, chair person in Holcombe Branch Road and Beech Glen, an nounces the campaign in that area is completed with total funds collected at $87 05. Mrs Plemmons and Mrs. Young explain that the funds will be used for research, care, treatment, and teaching to help those youngsters suffering with cystic fibrosis, asthma, emphysema, bron chiectasis and bronchitis. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in North Carolina supports the Duke CF Center at Duke Medical Center in Durham along with 110 other such centers in the country. A total of 150,000 North Carolina youngsters suffer with these incurable lung diseases; 260,000 adults in North Carolina carry the cystic fibrosis gene. Cystic Fibrosis occurs one in 1,600 births when both parents are carriers of the gene. Life expectancy for CF patients is age 18. Eight two per cent of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's dollar is used for research and medical care, clinical fellowships, public and professional information and education and community services. |i ? MRS JERRY BASS Deborah Myers Churches Plan Special Services Here A community-wide Christmas eve candlelight service will be held in the Marshall Presbyerian Church on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. On Sunday morning ? Christmas day ? the churches of the town of Marshall will unite in a service in the Marshall Baptist Church. This hour-long service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will be climaxed by observance of the Lord's Supper. The public is invited to participate in both services. Maksik's eyes light up as he discusses his favorite topic, the catered affair. He especially warms to the vii, monoin vApwuw. *??? kind of wedding can be done with taste, has a nostalgic charm and suits the economy. Anyway, the ceremony is now more important to brides and grooms than the wedding reception." Maksik applauds the idea of holding the wedding in an unusual place, from the restaurant where a couple had their first date to a golf course, if they're big on the game. "A good caterer will follow you anywhere," he notes.
