"Bill" Metcalf, 76, of Route 1, Mars Hill, died Fri day in an Asheville hospital after a short illness. A lifelong resident of Madison County, he was a retired farmer and salesman for French Broad Chevrolet. He was also affiliated with Bernard Walker Tobacco Warehouse for several years. He was a son of the late Tilden and Mary Lou Anderson Met calf. His wife, Minerva Robin son Metcalf, died July 6. Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Moffitt of Winter Park, Fla.; a son, McKinley Metcalf of Atlanta; a brother Kmer son C. Metcalf of Asheville; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
