Gunter-Laws Vows f Are Exchanged Barbara Ann Gunter bcamc the bride of Bobby Lynn Laws Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. at Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church in a double ring, candlelight ceremony. The Rev. Kenneth Talton con ducted the ceremony. Hie bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Gunter of 1 Marshall. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Roselee Laws of Greeneville, Tenn., and the late Raymond Laws. Hie bride was given in marriage by her brother Walter Paul Gunter. The bride wore a flowing gown covered with satin and lace. She carried a bouquet of carnations, daisies and babies breath of assorted colors with a long bow streamer and two red roses which she presented to the mothers at the altar. Matron of honor was Mary Lou Ramsey, niece of the bride. Bridesmaids were Debbie Laws, sister of the bridegroom, and Kathy Travis, (rind of the bride. They both wore long blue gowns and carried a white mum with long white streamers. Carl Henry Goanell, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. Jimmy Laws, brother of bridegroom, was beat man. Ushers were Joe Penland, friend of the bride, and Mark Ramsey, nephew of the bride. Barbara Gunter, sister-in law of the bride, kept the bride's book. Barbara Penland, pianist, presented a program of wedding music prior to the ceremony. Terry Gunter, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. A reception followed the ceremony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Gunter. Serving were Velma Reece, Rebecca Roberts and Pauline Gunter, all of Marshall. The couple will reside in Greeneville, Tenn. Audrey Fox Weds ?' Jerry Ray Ramsey Audrey Lynn Fox and Jerry Ray Ramsey were married at 2 p.m. Sept. 22 in Oak Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Sherman J. She is a 1979 graduate of Asheville Buncombe Technical College and is employed by Carolina Truck and Body Co. Inc. in Asheville. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Eugene Ramsey of Hot Springs. He is a 1977 graduate of Madison High School and is employed by Quoram Knitting Mills in Weaverville. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. Alice Sprouse of Weaverville was matron of honor, and Tenia Hollar of Weaverville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Karen Fox, sister of the bride, and Emily Robertson, both of Weaverville. Junior attendants were Tina Clark and Tracey Crowe, both of Weaverville. The bridegroom's father was best man. Ushers were Dennis Edwards of Macshall, John Deaver of Knoxville, Tenn., and Joey Brady of Bristol, Tenn. A reception followed. MR. AND MRS. Liver man III in a 6:30 p.m. ceremony Sept. 21 in Georgetown Baptist Church, Leicester. The Rev. James Lee conducted the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Rice of 74 Crestfield Ave., Asheville. Liverman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carther Liverman II of Alexander. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. Robyn Buckner, sister of the bride. was matron of honor. Junior attendants were Christie Kemp of Asheville and Anthony Turbyfill of Leicester. Michael Ford of Enka was best man. Ushers were David Kemp of Asheville and Harold D. Parham of Leicester. A reception followed at Woodfin Community Center. The bride is a 1976 graduate of Asheville Orthopedic School. The bridegroom is a 1975 graduate of Enka High School and is employed by Currier Piano Co. in Marion. The couple will live in Marion. MRS. LIVERMAN ...the former Sharon Rice Rices Feted On 40th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Julius Rice celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at their Foster Creek home on Sept. 21. They are lifelong residents of Foster Creek. The celebration was given by their children, Lucille Carver, Virginia Williams, Truman Rice, L.J. Rice and Debra Cutshall. Other members of the immediate family were also present, representing five generations of the Rice family. Cutting down on sugar? Make applesauce without sugar and add fine strips of fresh dates. Lottie Reeves of Walnut celebrated her Nth birthday with a family dinner on Sept. 16. She was born Sept. 4, 1891. They had U children, nine of whom are still living. All were present at the birthday dinner evrent one daughter, Mr Let* Ledford, who was unabl to be here. She has 32 gram children, 54 greai grandchildren, and five grea great-grandchildren. She i one of the oldest members < the Walnut Free Will Baptu Church and still attends ever Sunday. She likes to read, em broider and quilt. She quilt with other members of Um Ladies Auxiliary of the churct one or two days each week. Stork Shower Honors Mrs. Candler A stork shower was given for Mrs. Tommy Candler Sept. 21 at the Marshall Housing Authority. The shower was given by Louis Griffin, Mrs. Willard Candler and Mrs. Jim my Thomas. A corsage was presented to the guest of honor by Mrs. Willard Candler.
