Deaths A? T. Voyd Smith T. Voyd Smith, 75, of OM Stars Hill Highway, Route 2, Man Hill, died Nor. 19 in on Asheville nursing home following a long illness. A native of Buncombe Coun ty and a resident of Madison County for the past several years, he was retired from Drexel Furniture Co. after 40 years. He was a son of the late Robert and Lisa Elkins Smith and the husband of the late Viola Burleson Smith. Surviving are a son, Ronnie Smith of Aurora, 111.; three sisters, Ethel Edwards of Mars Hill, Carrie Rogers of Weaverville and Rose Wyatt of Asheville; a brother, Howard Smith of Asheville; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 17 in Piney Mountain Baptist Church, of which he was a member. The Rev. Sib bald Lambert and the Rev J.H. Smith officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. West Funeral Home in Weaverville was in charge. Howard Koon Howard Koon of 133 Wyatt St. died Nov. 17 in an Asheville hospital after a long illness. A native of Madison County and a resident of Buncombe County for more than 50 years, he was the husband of the late Lena Young Koon. He was a son of the late Adolphus and Sarah Conley Koon. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Mars Hill. Surviving are seven daughters, Lucille Johnson of Williamsburg, Va., Mary Frances Gash of High Point, Ruthie Lynch of Detroit, Mich., Eva Whiteside, Martha Shepard, Gladys Gibson and Janice Koon of Asheville; five sons, John Koon of Brevard, George Koon of Morganton, Calvin Koon of Atlanta, Robert and Charles Koon of Asheville; four sisters, Carson of Marion, Hines of Lewis burg, Pansy Henry and Daisy of Asheville ; 35 gran and six great-) Services were held at 2 1 Tuesday in the chapel] Wilkins-Hart Mortuary. Mike Sprinkle, 72, of Route 2, Weaverville, died Nov. 15 at his home following an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Madison County, he was a Baptist minister and a retired farmer. He was a son of the late Jesse and Laura Jarrett Sprinkle. Surviving are his wife, Maudie Mashburn Sprinkle; ind three sisters, Delia Carter if Asheville, Cindy Bradley of Marshall and Hariette Hollifield of Walnut. Kasey, Edith Bennett, Nadine K. Martin, Geraldine K. Greene and Dorothy Williams of Asheville; a brother, William P. Ballard of Swannanoa; two sisters, Mandy L.
