Graduates ' Plans Are Uncertain By TAMMY HARRIS The Madison High School Class of 1M4 is ready for Graduation Day. As Graduation Day neared, we took a survey of the class to find out what their plans for the future were. One hundred and seventy-two members of the class responded. While most of the seniors returned the questionaires, it seems that many are still undecided as to what their past graduation plans are. Twenty members of the Class of 1984 reported that they have absolutely no idea what they'll do. The remainder of the Class of 1984 listed almost 30 different oc cupations they plan to enter after graduation. Medicine is an at tractive career choice for many of the seniors. Nine class members reported that they will be entering pre-med programs in the fall. Seven seniors reported that they will be looking for jobs as machinists following graduation. Almost two-thirds of the Class of 19M has applied to a college a cording to the survey returns. Sixty-three percent of this year's seniors have applied to college compared to 56 percent of the Class of 1983. At the time we took the survey in April, 52 seniors reported being accepted in a col lege. Many others have received acceptance letters since the survey was taken. At least 12 seniors have receiv ed scholarships to college, in cluding Norman Grace of Mars Hill, who became Madison High School's third Morehead Scholar ship winner. In addition to college, 11 seniors reported they are plann ing to get married following graduation and another 20 reported they plan to go right to work.
