Lisa Thorsen Weds Kelly Sluder
Lisa A. Thorsen and Keliy
R. Siuder were united in mar
riage on June 30 at the Moun
tain View Freewill Baptist
Church. The Rev. Jennis P.
Siuder of the Mountain View
Freewill Baptist Church con
ducted the ceremony. Rev.
Siuder is the grandfather of
the bridegroom.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jon Thorsen of
Marshall. The bridegroom is
the son of Dean and Margaret
Siuder.
Alice Sprouse, Rita
Lankford and Doug Siuder
provided music during the ser
vices.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her father. She wore
a wedding gown originally
worn by her mother, Claudia,
21 years ago. The satin gown
featured pearls and brocade.
She also wore a fish net veil
and carried a bouquet of
flowers in a rainbow arrange
ment.
Diana Roberts of Marshall
served as the matron of honor.
The bride's sister, Erika
Thorsen, served as a
bridesmaid along with Patti
Coward of Hot Springs, Vicki
Sluder and Tresa Ray of
Shelton Laurel.
The father of the groom
served his son as the best
man. The bridegroom's
brother, Nelson Sluder, served
as an usher along with Lee
Sprouse, Alan Hawkins and
Travis Tweed.
The bride is a 1963 graduate
of Madison High School. The
bridegroom is a 1982 graduate
of North Buncombe High
School. He is employed by the
A-B Emblem Co. in Weaver
ville.
The wedding attracted
several out-of-town guests, in
cluding the bride's brother,
Marine Lance Corporal Jon P.
Thorsen, who flew in from his
duty station in Okinawa for
the wedding. The bride's
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Marlen Cook of Arizona also
attended the wedding along
with guests from Michigan 4f
and Louisiana.
The couple will make their
home in Flat Creek.
