Jay will bring the morning message at Bonnie Hill at 9:30 a.m. and the morning message at Sleepy Valley at 11 a.m. Mars Hill Mars Hill College s adult-oriented evening program has announced its spring schedule for classes offered (Wing the second semester. Hie Center for Continuing Educa tion, which sponsors the program, has divided the semester into two 10-week course offerings, and one 15-week course period. This allows students to take 12 semester hours of credit, thereby qualifying as a full time student and becoming eligible for additional financial aid. The schedule began Monday with the first 10-week classes. Formal registration will be held Monday through Jan. 16 at seven sites throughout Western North Carolina. Classes will be offered in Bumsville at Glen Raven Mills and East Yancey Middle School, registration Jan. 15, at the Glen Raven Mills Training Room from 5 to 6 p.m. and in Mars Hill at the Peterson Conference Center registration Wednesday from ? to 7 p.m. The Center offers degrees in ac counting, allied health, business ad ministration, education, psychology, religion and social work. Professional certification is offered in accoun ting/cpa preparation, management, gerontology and gifted education. Also offered for the first time this term will be a Weekend College pro gram, which will offer students credit for one class in four weekends of study. A-B Tech Lists Winter Quarter Classes The Madison County Center of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Col lege has announced its list of Continu ing Education classes for the winter quarter. Income tax preparation - Classes will be held for six weeks on Monday, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Madison High School. The class begins Jan. 19, and there is a $15 registration fee. ? Typing (beginning or advanced) - The 10-week course will be held on Tuesdays, starting Jan. 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Madison High School. The registration fee is $15. ? Cake decorating - The 10-week course, taught at Marshall Elemen tary School, will be held on Thursday beginning Jan. 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Registration fees are $25, plus the cost of supplies. ? Stained glass - Beginning Jan. 19 for 10 Mondays, this course will be held at Madison High School from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The cost of the course is $25, plus supplies. ? Brick- and block-laying - The course will be held on Tuesdays for 10 weeks, from 6:30 p.m to 9:30 p.m., at Madison High School beginning Jan. 20. The registration fee is $20, plus supplies. ? Sewing (beginning and in termediate) - The 10-week course will be held on Monday beginning Jan. 19 at Madison High School, with classes held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The fee to register is $20, plus supplies. A-B Tech also offers adult basic education and GED (high school equivalency) preparation at several locations in Madison County : ? Marshall Board To Meet The Marshall Board of Aldermen will meet at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall, following a meeting of the town Planning Board at 7 p.m. Commissioners Schedule Meeting The Madison County Board of Commissioners will meet at 1 p.m. Monday in the Madison County Courthouse. Emergency Meeting In Hot Springs Hot Springs Mayor Kenny Ramsey has called an emergency meeting of the Hot Springs Board of Aldermen to discuss a municipal sewer situation. The meeting is at 11 a.m. Thursday in Town Hall. Women Voters Plan Discussion The Madison County Unit of the League of Women Voters will hold a luncheon meeting at noon on Wednesday at Western Steer Steakhouse in Mars Hill. The Madison County Board of Commissioners will attend and participate in a discussion ses sion. The meeting is open to the public. Wilde Graduates William Timothy Wilde, credit manager trainee of the Carolina Tire Company store located at 106 U.S. 64 West in Murphy, graduated recently from the company's management training program. The announcement was made by Clyde Granberry, executive vice president of the company's retail division. The four-week training session was held at the parent company's new training facility in Salisbury. This training em phasizes commitment to provide the highest quality service possible for our Murphy-area customers," said Granberry.
