Jessie M. Wilbanks, 7?, of 43 Bull
Mountain Road, Asheville, died last
Thursday in an Asheville hospital.
A native of Madison County, she
had lived in Buncombe County for the
past 00 years. She was an employee of
Buncombe County Juvenile Receiv
ing Center and a daughter of the late
Sam and Hester Jervis English.
Surviving are a son, Larry E.
Wilbanks of Asheville; a daughter,
Dianne M. English of Warner Robins,
Ga. ; four sisters, Blanche Metcalf
and Grace English of Asheville, Ora
L. Black of Hendersonville and Ada
Gtbbs of Weavervflle; seven grand
children; and, four great
grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sun
day in Green Hills Cemetery. The

Dewey Marler
Dewey R. Marler, 73, of 100 Riddle
Farm Road, Marshall, died Sunday in
an Asheville hospital.
A lifelong resident of Madison
County, he was a son of the late Ervin
and Lillie Roberts Marler. He retired
in 1976 from N.C. Department of
Transportation.
Surviving are his wife, Syviila
Freeman Marler; a brother, Reuben
Marler of Marshall; a half brother,
Oliver Hagan of Asheville; and, two
sisters, Dollie Capps of Asheville and
Clarice Randall of Henderson ville
Services were held Tuesday in the
chapel of Bowman Funeral Home.
The Rev. Jimmy Buckner officiated.
Burial was in Bowman-Rector
Cemetery.
