Drama To Begin Brevard Music Center will present the musical drama "The Twelfth Star," produced by A1 Plemmons of Spring Creek, as part of the celebra tion of the bicentennial of the United States Constitution. The drama is about our pioneer forefathers struggling for survival and freedom while conquering the wilderness of Western North Carolina (1761-1798). The liftstyle of 200 years ago is vividly portrayed with all the hardships, tragedy, and faith of these great people who settled our area and helped North Carolina become the 12th state. Things that were done such as soap making, using herbs for medicine, spinning, weaving and making roof shingles for the cabin are all ac curately depicted as a part of the pioneers daily lives. The cfarama was written for this special event by Brevard resident 1 Susan M. Lefler, the daughter-in-law of the late historian Hugh Talmage Lefler, who was considered "the Dean of North Carolina Historians." The drama is rich with accurate historical events of 300 years ago and is beautifully written with humor, tragedy, romance and music. Follow ing the drama, a 250-voice choir will sing "America, The Dream." Rhue Miller is the director of the drama, and A1 Plemmons of Spring Creek is the producer. Ticket pro ceeds will help cover actual expenses of production. All personnel have donated their time and talent . Adult tickets are $4; children 12 and under, 92.
