Ray Hannah, 64, or Leicester, died Friday, Aug. 13 at his home ? A lifelong resident of Buncombe ? County, he was a Marine veteran of ; World War II. He was a son of the late : Mont and Margaret Duckett Hannah. He is survived by four brothers, : George Hannah of Cleburne, Texas, : Kenneth Hannah of Mississippi, Jim Hannah of Manassas, Va., and Gene ' Hannah of Marshall. Services were held Tueday in Big ? Roberts Prank Earl Roberts, 71, of Arden, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, in an Asheviile hsopital A native of Madison County, he had lived in Arden for the past 10 years. He was retired from American Enka Corporation. He was a son of the late John W. and Molly White Roberts and the husband of the late Violet Tate Roberts He is survived by a son, Frank Roberts Jr. of Dryersburg, Tenn.; two brothers, Lester "Bud" Roberts and Carson Roberts of Marshall; two sisters, Opal Cappe of Mars Hill and Hattie Wells of Albion, N.Y.; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services were held Friday in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The Rev Keith Edwards of ficiated. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Dora P. Shelton Dora Payne Shelton, 97, of Leicester, died Tuedsay, August 9, at her home. A native of Madison County, she had lived in Buncombe County for the past 10 years. She was the daughter of the late John and Emily Foster Payne and the wife of the late Jehu Shelton. She is survived by two sons, James Shelton of Hot Springs and Verlin B. Shelton of Weaverville; two daughters, Mabelle Sain of Colum bus, N.C.; and Virginia N orris of Leicester, with whom she made her home; 10 grandchildren, IS great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Sprinkle Tennie Gardner Sprinkle, 81, of 1 Jones St., died Tuesday, Aug. 9, at her home. A native of Madison County, she had lived in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a retired nursing assistant with St. Joseph's Hospital and a member of the Riverside Bap tist Church. She was a daughter of the late Charles D. and Tyna Anders Gardner. Surviving are a daughter, Bette Davis of Asheville; two sisters, Fan nie Franklin and Eva Payne of Asheville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were held Friday in the chapel of West Funeral Home. The Revs. Leslie SChofeild and Donald D. Hoffman officiated. Burial was in West Memorial Park. Carrie R. Roberts Carrie Roberts Roberts, 87, of Weaverville, died Tueday, Aug. 9, in an Asheville hospital. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Liza Ball Roberts and wife of the late Oscar M. Roberts. She is survived by five daughters, Virginia West and Betty Patton of Weaverville, Elizabeth Whittemore of Marietta, Ga., Aretha Honeycutt and Christine Burleson of Asheville; a stepdaughter, Lola Roberts of Weaverville; five sons, Gary and Dewy Roberts of Weaverville, Tony, Talmadge, and Eugene Roberts of Asheville, and Vernon Roberts of Swannanoa; a stepson, Clyde Roberts of Arden; a sister, Fannie Stevens of Leicester; a brother, Edward Roberts of Weaverville; 31 grand children, and 34 great-grandchildren.
