After ly ing in a passive state since last No vember, it succeeded in sanding some score* of old and now offenders a gainst the peace and dignity of the town to police court in the thirty day* •tiding yaatotday. From these ' tha town court collected considerably more than $200 in costs and about $100 in finoa. This was the highest mark since November, when $1,486.30 was col lected in fines and costs and about twenty men were sent te the town ship road camp. December wat tho dullest month of the year so far as the court was concerned. Only $S4«. was imposed against offenders in the month of good cheer. That tho town court is a profitable Institution is shown by tha fact that during the nine months ending Jan uary 31, $6,326.06 was eollactad in costs and $1,127.01 in flnea. Mean time elghly-nlae men were sent to the ruads and several women to jail or Samareand. The cost of the court to the town is $66.00 a month for tha recorder.
