Stretcher gave an interesting report, in the absence of Mrs. W. L. Hardin, ,Ir., the delegate to the State Fedeiation of Music Clubs which was held recently in W inston-Salem. Since certain fea turts of the constitution of the club seemed out of date a new constitution was adopted. Miss Margaret Strmirficld had charge ot the program with the sub ject of "1 he Contemporary Modern School of Music." In a paper fche lead prior to the pres ntatiolis of the program which gave .illustrations of various points she stiesMil. she gave an interesting outline of the trends in modern music and the changes of the past few vears. Special guests of the club were Mrs. J, Dale Stentz and her four chil dren, Miss Jane, Mary, George and David. As an illustration of music in the home which is being stressed by the mu-sis federations over the country, they gave several numbers, Miss Jane Stentz sang "Heart of Gold," by Nonny and together as a quartet they sang "Old Uncle Moon," by Charles Scott and "Smilin' Through." ' ' ' Mrs. W. T. Lee, Jr., Mrs. Hallet Ward, Mrs. Hugh Massie and Mrs. M. H. Bowles motored to Asheville for the day Wednesday.. .-. SENIORS GIVE PARTY IN SEVEN CLUB BUILDING On .Monday even.ng tiirough the courtesy of the members of the Seven Club, who received with them the Seniors of the'-, high -'school gave a paity at the Seven Club. The first part of the evening was devoted to games, which were under the super vision of Mr. M. IL Bowles, Superin tendent of the Waynesville Township Schools and Mr. Carleton E. VV'eath e.by, principal of the high , school. , Following the games,! a musical program Was given, which consisted ot a variety of numbers. The latter part of the evening was spent in dancing. Music was furnished by the '"Sky-landers.' Around fifty of the members of the graduating class were present for the delightful affair. Chaperons of the occasion were: Mrs. Will Hyatt, Mis .Martha Mock, Miss Evelyn Un derwood, Mr. Carleton E. Weatherby, and Mr. M. H. Bowles. During the evening an ice course was served. .Mrs. James L. Stringfield returned on Monday night after a two weeks visit to relatives in Richmond and Raleigh. ' . Miss S. A. Jones, who has been spending sometime at Prospect Hill since her accident in the fall, has re turned to her home on Walnut street. Mr. and Mrs. Will Grahl, who have been spending several days in this section at their former home here. are leaving for Dalton, Ga. Theyt were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Grahl and children, Doris, Carol and Martha Ann. -....... Mrs. John Ferguson has arrived and will spend sometime as a guest at the Palmer House. Mrs. Fergu son is the wife of Captain John N. Ferguson, U. S. N., who is now in command of the "Pascaloosa," with the fleet on the Pacific Coast. Cap tain Ferguson is the brother of Mrs. E. J. Robeson and the son of the late Judge Garland S. Ferguson, Rev, Paul Hardin, Jr. will go to Brevard on Friday evening wheire he will be the chief speaker at the Senior Junior banquet of Brevard College. r ' '.- D.!A,E. MEETING TO BE HELD WITH MRS.
