be divided equally with the library
board. On Thursday night there will
be a dance with music furnished by
the "Skylanders." On Friday, be-;
ginning at 4:l!0, and lasting through!
8 o'clock, will be a tea and dinner,
dnnce, with a small sum charged. for,
each dance, with music also by the
"Skylanders." On Saturday night a
square dance will be staged. Tickets
for all these affair? will be sold by
the high school students. Prizes will
be given those making the best sales.

Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Miller, (Carolyn
Miller) and three small sons, of Way
cross, Ga., have arrived for the sum
mer season, and will again occupy
the Clyde Ray cottage, on Main
street. Mrs. Miller, who is at work
on a novel, will devote her time to
writing.
Miss Hattie Siler Freemin, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins Free
man, was awarded the college medal
for being the outstanding debater at
Cullowhee College this past year.
IMiss Freeman is also a member ol
the intercollegiate debating teom.

Miss Withers Given
Cup For Her Acting
Decatur. Ga. (Special to the Mountaineer.)--
Miss Hester Anne Withers
daughter of Mr. and .Mrs. E. L.
Withers, graduated on Mav the 2Sth
from Agnes Scott College. During
he- college career Miss Withers has
participated, in many of the various
college activities. She was president
of the Blackfriars, a member of the
Cotillion Club, the Bible Club, the
French Club, the International Re
lations Club and the Y. W. C. A. Cab
inet. She was also a member of the
Freshman and Sophomore Stunt com
mittee and a Freshman sponsor.
Miss Withers, an outstanding stu
dent, was particularly interested in
dramatics. She was awarded the silver
loving cup for the best acting of the
year, following- the Blackfrairs Dra
matic Club's offering of "Cheophore"
by Aeschylus at commencement. ;
