that hotels and bonrding houses are
ahead of last year's schedule with the

last vear, Mr, Withers stated.
Man Pays Taxes With
"Blanket" Type Rills
Tax Supervisor D. A. Howell is
displaying four of the "blanket" size
dollar bills which were paid into him
for taxes by an old man living some
distance from town.
iMr. Howell remarked about the old
time bills at the time, and the man
replied: "I got a lot more like 'em
where them come from."
In discussing the collection of taxes
Mr. .Howell was warm in his praise
for the response the people have
given. He has a special announce
ment in today's paper calling atten
tion to those who owe any taxes, and
explains the necessity of making
prompt settlement,
