Yarborough, 88, Buried Sunday Last rites were held on Sunday after noon at the Arnon Plains Methodist church near Canton at 2 o'clock for W. A. Yarborough, 88, Confederate vet eran of the War between the States, who died in Canton Friday morning at 2 o'clock following a brief illness. Rev. W. II. Pless, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. Mr. Hall, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Cecil Collctt, .Frank Stamey, Dewey Lankford, Lester Johnson, George Lowrancc, and Vinson Worley. Mr. Yarborough was a native of Crabtree township of Haywood coun ty. He was born on January 10, 1848. Surviving are one brother, Thomas Yarborough, of Cove Creek; four sisters, Mrs. Emeline Wright, of Can. ton; Mrs. Margaret Gilden, of South Carolina ; Miss Adeline Yarborough, of Lake Junaluska, and Mrs, Alemia White, of Canton, and two nieces. . Withers To Have Charge Of Group Ernest L. Withers, former district governor of the 58th district of Ro tary International, has been named by the convention committee to be in charge of a luncheon group at the district convention in Charlotte on May 4-5. Mr. Withers will be in charge of the group that will discusse "Club Ser vice." The Waynesville club has been as signed eight delegates to attend the convention, and Mr. Withers is in charge of the local delegation.
