Mr. Hovis MoCracken, who is at

ers College, arrived this week to spend
the Christmas vacations with his fam
ily. Miss Martha Way, student of the
Greensboro College, arrived on Satur
day to spend a fortnight here with her
family,
Mrs. L. L. Raymond, of New York
City, who is a popular Waynesville
visitor, arrived on Friday and will
spend several weeks in town. She is
stopping with Mrs. M. H. Reeves on
Depot street.
Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Plott will have
as their guests during Christmas, their
daughter and her husband, Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Battle, of Bryson City.
Mr. Clarence Hyatt, who is a stu
dent at Mars Hill College, arrived
this week to spend the holidays with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Hyatt,
at their home on the Fairview Road.
Miss Gusaie Martin, who is teach
ing in the school at Waterville, will
spend Christmas with her brother and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Martin.

BRIDE OF MR. FRED I'LOTT
The interest of a wide circle of
friends and relatives will be attached
to the announcement by Mrs. John T.
Jones, of the marriage of her daugh
ter, Miss Edna Jones, to Mr. Fred
Plott, which took place on Friday
morning at 7:30 o'clock in Long's
Chapel at Lake Junaluska. The pas
tor, Rev. John H. Carper, pronounced
the marriage vows.
The bride was attended by her siti
ter, Miss Lucy Jones, as maid of hon
or. She wore a crepe gown of King's
blue, with harmonizing accessories,
and her flowers were a mixed arrange
ment of snapdragons.
The bride wore a becoming dres of
rust crepe, with black accessories and
her flowers were a corsage of orange
and bfonze snapdragons. Mrs. Plott
is the daughter of Mrs. John T, Jones
and the late John T. Jones. She is a
graduate of the Clyde High School.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. James H. Plott, of Canton. For
the past seven years he has held a
position with the Enka Corporation.
He was attended on Friday morning
by Mr. Arthur P. Ledbettur, of Way
nesville;, as bent man.
Immediately following the cere
mony, the couple left by motor for a
wedding trip to various points in Vir
ginia. Upon their return, they will
reside with the bride's mother at the
Jones Farm, near Waynesville.

from an extensive business trip

Walter, have arrived from Raleigh,
and will spend the Christmas season
with the former's mother, Mrs. Maria
Mitchell.
Miss Emily Siler, who is a student
at Peace Institute, Raieigh, is spend
ing the Christmas vacations with het

Miss Marguerite Clark, student at
the Vistern Carolina Teachers Col
