Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van Gesson, of Orlando, Fla., have arrived to spend a month here. They will be guests at the home of Mrs. M. H. Reeves. Mrs. Gesson is the former Miss Carrie Graves, daughter of the late Col. and Mrs. S. T. Graves. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Jackson and children, Billy and Betty, spent the week-end in Durham as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Pifer, Dr. and Mrs. C. N. Sisk spent a couple of days this week in Raleigh. Thad Chafin, who has been attend ing Georgia Military College, of Mil ledgeville, Ga., arrived to spend the summer with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thad Chafin, on the Fail-view road. Marsh, who have been residing on Pigeon street, moved on Monday into the Smathers residence on Boyd avenue, which the Browns have been occupying. Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Brown moved into the tormer Kail residence on Water street this week. They have purchased the property and have had a number of improvements made on the house. Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Lewis, of Charleston, West Va., who have been visiting tht hitter's father, Mr. W. T Lee, and Mrs. Bess Lee Page, have left for a trip West. En route they will visit Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Dick ey in Sweetwater, Tenn. Mi's. Christopher C.
