Arthur (Bud) Smith who is a freshman at Western Carolina Teachers Collene spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Smith of Hazelwood. Young Smith is a member of the Dayton Rubber Dance Team and went with the group to Moore General Hos pital, where they danced for the patients on Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tate and small daughter, Patsy, of Newton, spent the week-end here with relatives. They were accompanied home by the former's father, Joe M. REECE, Owner Head Brothers Visit Parents Girl Scout Group Mrs. Hugh Massie was re-elected as chairman of the Mother's Committee of the Waynesville Girl Scouts at a meeting held Wednes day night at the home of Mrs. Massie. Others elected to serve with the chair man are; secretary, Mrs. June Smathers; treasurer, Mrs. J. C. Crouser. During the evening Mrs. E. C. Wagenfeld, leader of the troops, discussed the need of making a surv.y of the talents of the com munity and the plan for asking as sistance from those heretofore con nected with Scouting in aiding the j;;ils to secure their badges. Each member of the committee was ask ed to find on person who would help with the work. Jane Clapp Gives Party On Anniversary Of Fifth Birthday Jane Clapp, young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Clapp, was hostess of a party at the home of her parents near the Waynesville Country Club on Friday afternoon in celebration of her fifth birthday anniversary. A color motif of pink and green was noted in the party arrangements. Each guest was presented an attractive favor. Games featured the entertain ment of the afternoon. The youth ful hostess assisted by her mother, Mrs. Johnny Cuddeback, Mrs. How ard Bryson, Mrs. J. P. Dicus, Mrs. Wayne Franklin and Mrs. Earl Messer in receiving and entertain ing the guests.
