THE WAYNESVILLE MOUNTAIN EER PAGE FIVE (Second Setting Lgm w ' - ,. -, , , i iii - fggi We, who faced the sacrifice and suffering of war, now head into Peace with the same high courage. We have only to think of our martyred dead and their bereaved, we have only to be reminded of the single-hearted purpose for which these heroes bled. Victory has but deepened our responsibilities. Out of this memory of war's anguish and in a renewed declaration of our faith and pride in the World Peace for which all America fought, emerges our Pledge for this Armistice Day of 1945. We pledge to Peace and to its principles, the same fervent devotion which fired our war aims. We pledge continued dedication to our democracy and its preservation in Peace as in War ... no matter how great the struggle. We pledge an unwavering vigilance against any possible forces of aggression and oppression, both at home and abroad. We pledge to Peace a fulfillment of the promises made in war... a safe, sound America where man can live in dignity . . . free from fear and want. We pledge to work and build as we never worked and built before, that Civilization may rise to new heights of glory. We pledge to invest in permanent World Peace by buying Victory Bonds . . . regularly, gladly. dm This Space Contributed By the Following Business Firms and Individuals: WELLCO SHOE CORPORATION THE HAYWOOD COMPANY PARK THEATRE "Best Of Entertainmcst" WaynesviIIe General Contractors The Union Clothing Company THE DAYTON RUBBER MFG.
